Un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s tarde, en el mes de Agosto se firm\u00f3 el convenio con el Ministerio de Salud y Previsi\u00f3n Social, la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud y la facultad de Ciencias Farmac\u00e9uticas y Bioqu\u00edmicas de la UMSA, aprobando su creaci\u00f3n; es as\u00ed que el 10 de octubre de 1989 fue creado por\u00a0 iniciativa de la Dra. Teresa Rescala Nemtala el Centro de Informaci\u00f3n y Documentaci\u00f3n del Medicamento (CIDME) dependiente de la Facultad de Ciencias Farmac\u00e9uticas y Bioqu\u00edmicas de la Universidad Mayor de San Andr\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>En el a\u00f1o 2010 se consolid\u00f3 con el apoyo de la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) de manera formal la RedCIMLAC\u00a0 (Red de Centros de Informaci\u00f3n de medicamentos de Latinoam\u00e9rica y del Caribe) \u00a0con los integrantes de algunos centros\u00a0 de informaci\u00f3n de medicamentos (CIM).
